Sin embargo, el litio es caro porque no es un metal abundante. El sodio, en cambio, es abundante y barato, y el inter\u00e9s por las bater\u00edas de iones de sodio (SIB) ha ido en aumento. Se han investigado diversos materiales para utilizarlos como c\u00e1todos o \u00e1nodos de las SIB. La mayor\u00eda de estos estudios se han llevado a cabo en sistemas de media celda que contienen un electrodo de trabajo (WE), un contraelectrodo (CE) y, si es necesario, un electrodo de referencia (RE). El WE contiene material cat\u00f3dico o an\u00f3dico. Es concebible utilizar sodio como material de electrodo negativo, pero esto ser\u00eda dif\u00edcil en la pr\u00e1ctica por cuestiones de seguridad.<\/p><p>Existen muchos informes sobre la deposici\u00f3n\/disoluci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica del litio. Los electrodos de litio met\u00e1lico tienen el inconveniente de que se cortocircuitan y de que el rendimiento de los ciclos es deficiente debido a la formaci\u00f3n de \"dendritas\" de litio durante la deposici\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica. La deposici\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de litio en una soluci\u00f3n electrol\u00edtica de LiAsF2\/etileno-carbonato-2-metiltetrahidrofurano de 0,5 mA\/cm2, tal como se describe en las referencias, procede como sigue. El litio crece desde la parte inferior del electrodo de litio y produce un retorcimiento. Como resultado, la forma del litio precipitado se vuelve dendr\u00edtica. A continuaci\u00f3n, el litio comienza a depositarse en las puntas de las dendritas de litio y en los puntos de acodamiento. La forma del litio depositado es granular. La disoluci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de las dendritas de litio procede del siguiente modo. Se disuelven las part\u00edculas de litio de la punta y del punto de inflexi\u00f3n. A continuaci\u00f3n, la matriz de la dendrita se disuelve y la dendrita se convierte en \"litio muerto\". Esta es una de las razones de la escasa reversibilidad de los electrodos de litio met\u00e1lico. Adem\u00e1s, los estudios sobre la forma del litio depositado electroqu\u00edmicamente en diversos electrolitos han demostrado que la forma depende del electrolito.<\/p><p>Como ya se ha mencionado, existen numerosos informes sobre la deposici\u00f3n\/disoluci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de litio. Sin embargo, hay pocos informes sobre la deposici\u00f3n\/disoluci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de sodio. Es importante comprender el comportamiento (por ejemplo, los cambios de forma durante el ciclo, la reversibilidad y la eficiencia coul\u00f3mbica) para facilitar el desarrollo de SIB. En este estudio, nos centramos en el sodio met\u00e1lico como CE y observamos el cambio de forma del sodio depositado\/disuelto electroqu\u00edmicamente en una soluci\u00f3n electrol\u00edtica basada en carbonato de propileno (PC). Las soluciones basadas en PC se utilizan ampliamente como electrolitos para SIBs y el uso de un \u00fanico disolvente nos permiti\u00f3 dilucidar el comportamiento de deposici\u00f3n\/disoluci\u00f3n. Se utilizaron electrodos de sodio y cobre como WE, y electrodos de sodio como CE como sistema de reacci\u00f3n t\u00edpico. Para la observaci\u00f3n, se utiliz\u00f3 un microscopio \u00f3ptico, tal y como se inform\u00f3 en nuestros estudios anteriores sobre materiales de \u00e1nodo de Sn-Co. Esta t\u00e9cnica nos permiti\u00f3 observar la secci\u00f3n transversal de la superficie del electrodo de sodio durante la deposici\u00f3n\/disoluci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de sodio y grabar v\u00eddeos del crecimiento de sodio para su observaci\u00f3n in situ. Adem\u00e1s, para investigar la presencia de capas finas superficiales como las interfaces electrol\u00edticas s\u00f3lidas (SEI) sobre el sodio depositado, por ejemplo Li2CO3 y Li2O sobre el litio depositado, examinamos la composici\u00f3n superficial del sodio depositado utilizando un microscopio electr\u00f3nico de barrido (SEM) equipado.Propiedades como la conductividad i\u00f3nica de las SEI son importantes para conseguir una buena reciclabilidad.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4><strong>Aplicaciones<\/strong><\/h4><p>En este estudio, el comportamiento electroqu\u00edmico de deposici\u00f3n\/disoluci\u00f3n de sodio en una soluci\u00f3n electrol\u00edtica basada en carbonato de propileno se investig\u00f3 principalmente mediante microscop\u00eda \u00f3ptica in situ. En primer lugar, se deposit\u00f3 sodio granular en las fosas del electrodo de sodio durante el proceso cat\u00f3dico. A continuaci\u00f3n, las part\u00edculas de sodio crecieron linealmente desde la superficie del electrodo en forma de aguja. En el proceso an\u00f3dico posterior, el sodio se disuelve cerca de la ra\u00edz de las agujas del electrodo de sodio y el denominado \"sodio muerto\" se desprende del electrodo. Las unidades circulares para la observaci\u00f3n microsc\u00f3pica se prepararon apilando l\u00e1minas de sodio (0,2 mm de grosor y 15 mm de di\u00e1metro, Kanto Chemical Corp.) o l\u00e1minas de cobre (0,01 mm de grosor y 15 mm de di\u00e1metro) como WE, electrolitos para preparar soluciones (1 M NaPF6\/PC, Tomiyama Pure Chemicals Industries Ltd.), diafragma de polipropileno impregnado (19 mm de di\u00e1metro, Celgard) y copos de sodio como CE. Como se muestra en la Fig. suplementaria 3(a), la c\u00e9lula circular se cort\u00f3 en semic\u00edrculos y se prepar\u00f3 una secci\u00f3n transversal expuesta de la WE\/diafragma con soluci\u00f3n electrol\u00edtica\/CE de la c\u00e9lula para su observaci\u00f3n. A continuaci\u00f3n, se coloc\u00f3 la c\u00e9lula semicircular en un soporte para microscop\u00eda \u00f3ptica y se observ\u00f3 la secci\u00f3n transversal de la superficie utilizando un microscopio \u00f3ptico a trav\u00e9s de una ventana de visualizaci\u00f3n hecha de zafiro, como se muestra en la Fig. suplementaria 3(b).
